California benefits from a strong agricultural industry for manufacturing plant-based milks. The state is home for more than 80% of the production of almonds and the gross value of rice produced in California exceeded US$1 billion in 2021.

 

In California, the plant-based milk market is booming and companies like Califia Farms, Three Trees Organics, Almond Breeze or New Barn Organics are seeing an increase in sales within the state.

 

Online grocery sales more than doubled over the past two years as people increasingly turn to platforms such as Amazon, Instacart or smaller Bay Area grocery startups like Good Eggs or Farmstead for online grocery shopping.

 

The fastest-growing plant-based milk is oat which has been increasing at breakneck speed over the past few years. In a booming market, customers continue to welcome innovation and try different flavors.
